The gallbladder is a tiny, hollow, pear-shaped sac that measures around 8 cm in length and 2.5 cm in width. It is located in your upper belly, beneath the right side of your liver. The little and big bile ducts, which link to the gallbladder, are two tubes. The common bile duct is composed of all of these. Your biliary system is made up of your gallbladder and bile ducts. The biliary tree or biliary system is what this is known as. Bile is concentrated and kept in the gallbladder. The liver produces a fluid called bile. It is created from bile salts, bilirubin, water, and cholesterol. The greenish hue of bile is a result of bilirubin. It is produced by the disintegration of old red blood cells. Bile aids in the digestion of lipids in your small intestine (intestine). When you consume fatty foods, your stomach and intestines break down (digest) the fats. Your body has two options for getting bile to the food in your gut: transfers it into your small intestine directly from the liver through the bile ducts. bile is released into your common bile duct when needed after being first stored in your gallbladder.
