Two tubes connect the gallbladder to the small and large bile ducts. All of them make up the common bile duct. Your gallbladder and bile ducts are part of your biliary system. This is known as the biliary tree or biliary system. The gallbladder is where bile is maintained in concentration. Bile is a fluid that the liver makes. Bile salts, bilirubin, water, and cholesterol are used to make it. Bilirubin is the cause of the bile's greenish color.
